Association Of Senior Centers
The Pennsylvania Association of Senior
Centers, or PASC, is a statewide, professional, non-profit organization for
Senior Center practitioners. The organization was started more than eleven years
ago by a group of visionaries who recognized the importance of properly staffed,
organized Senior Centers in every community in the Commonwealth. Their vision
extends into areas important to the successful operation of Senior Centers and
to the communities that support them. Those areas assure the best possible
training programs for Senior Center personnel, guidance in management procedures
for Senior Center administrators and enlightenment with respect to the
development of fund raising opportunities. The Association has set for itself
the mission that:
-
Provides
training for the enhancement of Senior Center operations
-
Promotes
communications with policy makers
-
Educates the
public about the crucial role of Senior Centers
-
Supports and
participates in the PASC-PAAAA (Pennsylvania Association of Area Agencies on
Aging) and Department of Aging Senior Internet Program
-
Serves as a
collector and disseminator of ideas and information that will improve the
operation of Senior Centers
-
An individual
membership is for a person who works in the senior center field.
-
A center
membership is for an individual center (not a AAA or a parent organization
that supervises more than one center), that has multiple employees.
