Seniors in Motion Senior citizens and people with disabilities can obtain motorized and manual wheelchairs, scooters, and other mobility equipment usually at no charge from "Seniors in Motion." The program provides free in-home evaluations and equipment fittings. Staff work with the patient's physician to complete paperwork and the cost is billed to Medicare or other insurance. The do have some donated equipment that can be provided to people without insurance. Equipment is delivered by a rehab representative with safety and operating instructions given. Elderhostel offers on-line courses (Home Page- http://www.elderhostel.org)   Elderhostel has added on-line courses to its opportunities available to adults age 55 and over. Now it is possible to enroll and take on-line seminars from your senior center or home computer. Some are available free of charge and others for a small tuition fee. Register on-line now.

Senior Community Center Media Campaign: Discover the Secret

Pennsylvania Department of Aging Senior Community Center and Satellite Centers Standards and Policies. The following policy, Aging Program Directive #96-04-01, was issued by the Pennsylvania Department of Aging on January  5, 1996. It establishes minimum operating standards for senior community centers funded by the Department. Area Agencies on Aging may choose to establish more stringent standards for centers existing within their planning and service area. The document  (Aging Program Directive 96-04-01.doc) is formatted in Word and may be downloaded and printed.
