Pancake Breakfast With Santa

Description
An all-you-can-eat pancake breakfast for the community and a Santa who is present for children.  Approximately 150 to 200 come.  The Lions Club handles the grill and the cooking.   senior Center members serve the breakfast.  The Vo-Tech prints flyers which are distributed to the center's neighborhood.  Local businesses help sell tickets -- also the Lions Club which shares the profits.  Crafts are sold during the breakfast.

Target Audience:
Seniors, relatives of seniors, the general community.

Organizations Involved:
Lions Club, Senior Center, Vo-Tech, Girl Scouts, local businesses.

Budget:
Total Income: $625 less $$167 expenses, Net $459 (shared by the senior center and the Lions Club ($229.50 each).  The following items were donated: coffee, cocoa, candy canes, pancake mix, syrup, paper for flyers.

Impact:
Makes money. Creates for the Center a positive image and recognition in the community. Promotes partnerships with other community organizations.  Allows family members to become acquainted with the center.

Problems:
Locating where to purchase supplies.  In spite of the fact that a discount is offered for pre-purchased tickets, many are sold at the door.
