Ice Cream in the Park

Description/Overview
Like most small towns in across Pennsylvania we have a festival for a week in the summer. Ours is the Groundhog Festival during the week of July 4th in our town park. Venders from all over the state set up booths to sell their merchandise, food and activities. My Senior Center sets up a booth to sell ice cream sundaes and cones.
We make it very simple:
*We have two kinds of ice cream-- Vanilla and Chocolate.
*We have two kinds of sundaes –Strawberry and Chocolate Syrup/nuts.
*We have one size sundae for $3.00 and cones are $1.00 a scoop.
*We are open the same hours 11am to 9pm every day of the festival.

Time and Manpower
Our participants from the center volunteer all week as well as others from our community. We always have high school students volunteer to help!

Marketing
We keep flyers on the counter that tell the services our center offers. Plus we make we make money for our center!
