Lunch Program Volunteers

Description/Overview
Volunteers of the Kingston Senior Center, under the direction of the Nutrition Manager, do the preparation work for the meals, serve the meals to the members, clean trays and pans, take out the garbage and assist in whatever else needs to be done.

Time and Manpower
The volunteers commit to several hours of time weekly. The manpower is needed to work effectively and efficiently together.

Marketing
Whenever an individual comes to the center for the first time, the volunteers always welcome them to the center and happily tell them how much they enjoy the center and what a wonderful place it is to come.

Audience Served
The audience served is primarily members of the center, guests and staff.

None, since they are all volunteers

Impact On Center
The lunch program has a huge impact on the center. It is, many times, what draws people to the center but then results in positive socialization. This then, leads to the individuals becoming involved in many other activities that the center has to offer.

Good Tips/Other
Some times talking to other Nutrition Managers and volunteers from other centers provide new ideas.

Good volunteers are important, they do their work happily, do a wonderful job and provide a positive impression for others who may be interested in becoming a volunteer. They are welcomed with open arms.
