Have seniors donate unwanted items to the center and invite the community set up and sale their unwanted items.

Time and Manpower
Collect items for 1 month prior to sale and then the week of the sale organize and set up for the sale

Budget/Costs
$100.00 to cover the cost of the food being bought to be sold during sale. Also have bake sale with donated items at no cost to center.

Impact On Center
Brings people to the area and shows them the senior center that they may not have been aware existed. Also gets the community and other community organizations involved with the center. All items not sold are donated to a mission through a local senior citizen who visits these missions. Helps the center in making needed funds - can make $300 or more after expenses for food because all other items are donated so there is no cost on these items.

Invite surrounding communities to get involved. Put the word out early that this is being planned and you are looking for donated items to sale.
